Rock Fluids Laboratory
Houston, Texas
This international oil and gas services giant has a large footprint in the greater Houston area, and PDG has been privileged to serve its numerous design needs at their various locations. This new Rock and Fluids Laboratory facility is a consolidation of three labs from Oklahoma, Texas, and Idaho into a single 106,000 square foot facility. The laboratory was planned as a single collocation of their Production Technologies Laboratory and their Geoservices Laboratory with office space for 140 staff.
The facility includes wet chemistry, rock, oil, organic, inorganic, synthesis, H2S, ASTM, gas chromatograph, and deep-water laboratories with support areas. The core lab includes geomechanics, core analysis, microscopy, petrology, high energy scanning, Dean-Stark analysis, rock mechanics testing with overhead cranes, hazardous material storage, cooler/freezer storage, and core viewing. This Laboratory functions as the single largest laboratory facility worldwide for this company.
